Aim of the workshop
This workshop will introduce imaging technologies used in modern seed testing and discuss their current status and future potential. The focus will be on practical applications supporting purity testing, other seeds determination, and variety testing, including key considerations for validation and implementation.
Workshop content
- Participants will be introduced to a range of imaging approaches, including automated image analysis, multispectral imaging and X-ray imaging, through a combination of lectures, technical demonstrations and hands-on sessions using commercially available solutions.
- Selected case studies from industry and laboratories will be presented, followed by discussion on opportunities, limitations and adoption in routine testing and regulation.

- Multispectral imaging: concepts, applications and practical sessions
- X-ray imaging in seed testing

- Microtomography by X-Ray applied to the seed quality evaluation.
- Non Termal Plasma for the improvement of the seed quality
- Stakeholder needs and future challenges

The participation fee includes all literature and supporting material for the workshop, lunches, coffee breaks and official dinner.
The number of participants is a minimum of 20 and restricted to a maximum of 30 participants.

For cancellations made before 21 September 2026 registration fees are refundable minus a 50 EUR administration fee.
For cancellations made after 21 September 2026 registration fees are non-refundable.
