ISTA Workshop on Tetrazolium Testing and Equilibrium Relative Humidity (eRH) Determination for Native Species

Aim of the workshop: 

The workshop aim is detecting some quality parameters of native species (a flower, a herb, a tree, a shrub species) not already included in the ISTA Rules and it is focused on the needs of seed testing laboratories that would like to work according to the ISTA Methods, standardizing testing methods for determining viability of seeds and equilibrium relative humidity (eRH), a new test method, alternative to moisture content, for small seed lots or precious seeds.

The language will be English – no translation

The workshop is organised for teaching participants to work with hands on seeds!

Friday, 26 May:

• Working groups: set up of a Method Validation Test Plan to introduce a new species in ISTA Rules (1 species per group)
• Principle of equilibrium Relative Humidity (water content) vs moisture content determination in native seeds tested (a flower, a herb, a tree, a shrub)
• Preparation of samples for Tetrazolium test, eRH test and Moisture test.
• Official dinner

Saturday, 27 May:

• Evaluation of eRH, moisture content and tetrazolium test of  samples prepared during the Workshop activities.

 

Participation Fee: 

ISTA Members	350 EUR
ISTA Non-Members	500 EUR

The participation fee includes all literature and supporting material for the workshop, lunches and coffee breaks, workshop dinner.
It does not include accommodation or meals other than those specified.

Accompanying person at official dinner: 60 EUR

 

The number of participants is a minimum of 15 and restricted to a maximum of 20 participants. 

If you would like to attend the workshop please fill in the registration form. In case you select payment by invoice the invoice will be sent to you, which has to be paid before the participation confirmation will be generated. 
 

Registration and payment deadline is 20 April 2023

For cancellations made before 20 April 2023 registration fees are refundable less the 50 EUR administration fee.   
For cancellations made after 20 April 2023 registration fees are non-refundable.
