Aim of the workshop:
The aim of the workshop is to provide an overview of Germination analysis content of a range of species, but also to provide a forum where questions relating to testing methodologies can be discussed.
Workshop content:
The workshop will be presented by means of formal lectures, practical work and a series of exercises where participants will form into groups to work on.
Topics included in the workshop are:
- Purpose and principles of the germination test.
- Introduction and practicals on Allium cepa, Arachis hypogaea, Eleusine coracana, Glycine max, Helianthus annuus, Oryza sativa, Phaseolus vulgaris, Solanum lycopersicum, Triticum aestivum subsp. aestivum, Zea mays
- Calculations, tolerances, and reporting of the germination results.

Monday, 17 April 2023: Opening, ISTA Overview, Helianthus introduction and practical.

Tuesday, 18 April 2023: Allium and Solanum introduction and practicals, excursion and workshop dinner.

Wednesday, 19 April 2023: Arachis, Glycine, Phaseolus, Zea, and Oryza introduction and practicals.

Thursday, 20 April 2023: Triticum and Eleusine introduction and practicals.
Participation Fee:
ISTA Members | 400 USD |
ISTA Non-Members | 600 USD |
The participation fee includes all literature and supporting material for the workshop, lunches and coffee breaks, excursion, workshop dinner and transfer between the workshop venue and hotels (except airport transfer).
It does not include accommodation or meals other than those specified.
The number of participants is a minimum of 20 and restricted to a maximum of 30 participants.
If you would like to attend the workshop please fill in the registration form. In case you select payment by invoice the invoice will be sent to you, which has to be paid before the participation confirmation will be generated.
Registration and payment deadline is 20 March 2023
Please note:
For cancellations made before 20 March 2023 registration fees are refundable less the USD 50.00 administration fee.
For cancellations made after 20 March 2023 registration fees are non-refundable.
