AASCO The Association of American Seed Control Officials The Association of American Seed Control Officials is an organization of seed regulatory officials from the United States and Canada. The Association was organized in 1949, from an outgrowth of regional meetings held in various parts of the United States. The members meet annually to discuss mutual concerns of seed law enforcement, to be updated on new developments in the seed industry, and to update the Recommended Uniform State Seed Law (RUSSL) which the organization developed and maintains as a "model" law for states and federal programs. AFSTA African Seed Trade Association The African Seed Trade Association arose out of a need to have a regional representative body for the seed industry, which could also serve to promote the development of private seed enterprises.
AOSA Association of Official Seed Analysts The Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA) is an organization comprised of member laboratories which are staffed by certified seed analysts. Such seed testing facilities include official state, federal, and university seed laboratories across the United States and Canada.
AOSCA Association of Seed Certifying Agencies Established 1919 as the International Crop Improvement Association. Current member agencies are from Argentina (1), Australia (1), Canada (2), New Zealand (1), and the United States (42) and are the official seed certifying agencies in their respective countries.
APSA Asia & Pacific Seed Association The mission of APSA is 'Sustainable agriculture through the production and trade of quality seeds for the world'. ASTA American Seed Trade Association Founded in 1883, the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) is one of the oldest trade organizations in the United States. Its membership consists of about 850 companies involved in seed production and distribution, plant breeding, and related industries in North America. As an authority on plant germplasm, ASTA advocates science and policy issues of industry-wide importance.
CSAAC Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada Inc. The CSAAC was founded in 1944 and became an Incorporated Not-for-Profit Organization in 1997. The Association has over 100 Members across Canada and the United States.
CropLife CropLife International Throughout 2000 and 2001, the Global Crop Protection Federation has worked to evolve into CropLife International, the new global federation to represent the plant science industry. This important change is the fruit of strong team work, creative questioning, strategic thinking - and concerted action. For the first time in its history, the federation has broadened its scope to include both crop protection and agricultural biotechnology.

FAO United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization The Food and Agriculture Organization was founded in October 1945 with a mandate to raise levels of nutrition and standards of living, to improve agricultural productivity, and to better the condition of rural populations. FELAS Federacion Latinoamericana de Asocianciones de Semillas Founded in 1986, FELAS acts as representative of its six members, at the Latin American and world level, promoting the interests of industrial sectors and the progress of agriculture on the continent. ICARDA International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas Established in 1977, the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is one of the 16 centers strategically located all over the world and supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). With its main research station and offices based in Aleppo, Syria, ICARDA works through a network of partnerships with national, regional and international institutions, universities, non-governmental organizations and ministries in the developing world; and with advanced research institutes in industrialized countries.

ISF International Seed Federation The International Seed Federation (ISF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization representing the seed industry. With members spread over 70 developed and developing countries on all continents, ISF represents the mainstream of the world seed trade and plant breeders community, and serves as an international forum where issues of interest to the world seed industry are discussed.
ISO International Organization for Standardization ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 146 countries, on the basis of one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.
ISST The International Society of Seed Technologists The International Society for Seed Science was inaugurated on January 28, 1999 at the 6th International Seed Workshop in Merida, Mexico. Its objects are to foster and promote research, education and communication in respect of the scientific understanding of seeds.
IUFRO International Union of Forestry Research Organization IUFRO is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists. Its objectives are to promote international cooperation in forestry and forest products research. IUFRO's activities are organized primarily through its 268 specialized Units in 8 technical Divisions.
NASDA National Association of State Departments of Agriculture The mission of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture is to support and promote the American agriculture industry, while protecting consumers and the environment, through the development, implementation, and communication of sound public policy and programs.
OECD Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development The OECD is the main reference for the certification and standardisation of certain agricultural commodities and inputs. The work of the Organisation in this area, which involves both Member and non-Member economies, focuses on the creation of common criteria in order to facilitate international trade. SCST Society of Commercial Seed Technologists The Society of Commercial Seed Technologists is a organization comprised of commercial, independent and government seed technologists. Formed in 1922, the SCST functioned as a liaison between the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA) and the American Seed Trade (ASTA). The SCST has developed over the years into a progressive organization that trains and provides accreditation of technologists, conducts research studies and proposes rule changes, and serves as an important resource to the seed industry.
UPOV International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants The International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) is an intergovernmental organization with headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland). It is based on the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, as revised since its signature in Paris on December 2, 1961. The objective of the Convention is the protection of new varieties of plants by an intellectual property right.
WSP World Seed Partnership The World Seed Partnership is an initiative taken by four international organizations (OECD, UPOV, ISTA and ISF) to support the development of the seed sector in countries around the world. WTO World Trade Organization The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the world's trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.

EPPO European Plant Protection Organization An intergovernmental organization responsible for international cooperation in plant protection in the European and Mediterranean region. Under the International Plant Protection Convention, EPPO is the regional organization for Europe. Founded in 1951, EPPO has grown from 15 original members to today's 43 member states, including nearly every country in the European and Mediterranean region. NAPPO North Americian Plant Protection Organization NAPPO, a Regional Plant Protection Organization of the International Plant Protection Convention, coordinates the efforts among Canada, the United States and Mexico to protect their plant resources from the entry, establishment and spread of regulated plant pests, while facilitating intra/interregional trade.
