Test round 08-1 started with the shipment of six samples of Lolium multiflorum seeds for testing purity, determination of other seeds, germination, tetrazolium and moisture content. In addition, reporting of provisional results on an Orange International Seed Lot Certificate was requested. Dispatch date was January 31, 2008 and deadline for reporting test results to the Secretariat was April 30, 2008. The deadline for reporting results was postponed upon request of numerous participants. By May 14, 2008 97% of the 110 participants had submitted their test results.
Preliminary test results are provided on the ISTA web site in order to allow for a first evaluation of the test results by the participants. Preliminary results are the mean results of the 10 samples that had been tested by the test leader prior to sample dispatch in order to test for potential heterogeneity. The results are not necessarily the means that will be calculated by using all laboratories' results but shall give a first indication of the seed quality parameters. Photographs of the other seeds added by the test leader can be viewed below.
With publishing this preliminary test report, no further results may be accepted for evaluation. Laboratories are kindly requested not to provide results of re-tests unless they wish to receive advice from the Secretariat or the Proficiency Test Leader on problems encountered or specific questions arising from investigating the source of error.
