The handbook assists the seed analyst by expanding on and illustrating the pure seed definitions of Chapter 3:
The Purity Analysis of the International Rules for Seed Testing. This will help in the training of analysts in purity testing according to international principles.
An illustration of the most relevant genera within a pure seed definition (PSD) is given to provide practical guidance on the application of a definition. Each PSD is illustrated with scaled, colour photograph or line drawings of seed covered by the PSD to help understanding the descriptions. A comprehensive glossary of scientific terms applying to seed purity is also included.
