Aim of the workshop
The objective of this workshop is to give experienced lab members the opportunity to discuss and be guided on ways to improve their Quality Assurance system and benefit from it.

Target groups
The workshop is for members of experienced laboratories that have already a well running quality management system in place. The lecturers will focus on selected topics to be discussed.

The workshop will consist of oral presentations, group work and exercises. Attendees’ involvement in exercises and discussions will be encouraged.   

Some of the workshop content will deal with:
General Management  
Technical aspects
- Statistical aspects in seed testing
- Dealing with the calibration/verification of equipment (e.g. verification of seed divider, balances, verification of temperature profile in germinators and ovens)
- How to read uncertainty on calibration certificates?
- How to evaluate if the germination substrate is suitable

Internal quality control
- Check testing, blind tests etc.
- Analysis
- Trends
- Monitoring of staff (seed samplers and analysts)

Internal Audits
- Requirements of Accreditation Standard
- Preparation for internal audit
- Performance of an internal audit
- Writing non-conformities

The workshop will include visit of the ISTA accredited Estonian Seed Testing Laboratory.

Registration fee
The number of participants is a minimum of 16, without which the workshop will be cancelled and limited to a maximum of 25. The registration fee will include all literature and supporting material for the workshop, lunches and coffee breaks, excursion, workshop dinner and transfer between the workshop venue and hotels (except airport transfer). It does not include accommodation or meals other than those specified.

ISTA Members: 400 EUR
Non-Members: 600 EUR

If you would like to attend the workshop please fill in the registration form. An invoice will be sent to you, which has to be paid before the participation confirmation will be generated. Please indicate any dietary requirements during registration. 
All payments are required prior to the 1st of May, 2016 in EUR and payable to ISTA.

Please note: 
For cancellations made before 30 April 2016 registration fees are refundable less a EUR 50 administration fee. For cancellations made after 30 April 2016 registration fees are non-refundable.
