  Preface to the Amendments 2005

Effective date

Additional or replacement pages were issued with effective from dates of 1st January, 2005. If the text on a replacement page did not change it retains the previous 'effective from date'. Changes to text between different 'effective from' dates are marked by vertical lines on the edges of text.

Details of changes

The 2005 changes are editorial corrections, or rules changes voted through at the Ordinary Meeting, Budapest, in 2004. Some minor formatting and/or editorial changes discussed at the Budpest meeting have not been issued as replacement pages but are being 'saved' for the next major re-print. A list of pages that have been replaced and/or amended follows (see next page). A new method for seed health testing and changes on page 7-008-4, 7-017-5 and 7-018-6 are for the Annexe to Chapter 7, published in a separate binder of the International Rules for Seed Testing. Although numbered as 7-020 in the 2004 Rules Proposals, to avoid gaps in the numbering of approved methods, the new seed health testing method is now 7-019. The method 7-019 does not have a centrifugation step. Details of when/how to use centrifugation with this method and other methods will be included in a revised ISTA Seed Health Handbook which is currently in preparation.

For the recent history of amendments to the Rules see the Prefaces for 2003 and 2004. The Rules, Annexes and Appendices that form the International Rules for Seed Testing.
