BIOSS Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland (BioSS) has an international reputation in the field of mathematics and statistics applied in the biological sciences. Established in 1987, BioSS contributes research, consultancy and training to agricultural and biological research organisations in Scotland. We also have growing links with the private sector, offering high-level statistical and mathematical skills to clients. CDFA California Department of Food and Agriculture: SEED BOTANY LABORATORY The Seed Laboratory identifies and evaluates seed samples and other plant propagules submitted by Department representatives (primarily through the Pest Exclusion Branch), seed producers and distributors, commercial and private laboratories, other state and federal agencies, academic institutions, and private individuals. The laboratory is considered an impartial authority and the information provided is often utilized in resolving contract disputes. The Seed Laboratory consists of two sections (Seed Taxonomy and Seed Physiology) and the majority of the samples require processing through both sections for analysis. CropLife CropLife International Throughout 2000 and 2001, the Global Crop Protection Federation has worked to evolve into CropLife International, the new global federation to represent the plant science industry. This important change is the fruit of strong team work, creative questioning, strategic thinking - and concerted action. For the first time in the history of the federation, we have broadened our scope to include both crop protection and agricultural biotechnology. In addition, we have dedicated ourselves to become more attuned and responsive to the issues and concerns of society.

Many plants (37,000 taxa, 14,000 genera) are included in GRIN taxonomy, especially economic plants. A recent paper on GRIN taxonomy provides a thorough discussion of data standards and taxonomic philosophy.

IUFRO International Union of Forestry Research Organization IUFRO is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists. Its objectives are to promote international cooperation in forestry and forest products research. IUFRO's activities are organized primarily through its 268 specialized Units in 8 technical Divisions. NOVAGate Nordic Gateway to Information in Forestry,Veterinary and Agricultural Science NOVAGate is a gateway to quality-assessed Internet resources in the fields of forestry, veterinary, agricultural, food and environmental sciences. The database is produced and maintained by the libraries of the NOVA University. SBEML The Seed Biology Electronic Mailing List SEED-BIOLOGY-L@cornell.edu is an electronic mailing list created for the purpose of fostering a world-wide exchange of seed biology research information. The name "Seed Biology" was chosen to attract the largest possible array of interest. Topics are not limited to seed biology; ecological and technological topics, as well as others, are also welcomed. SEEDQUEST Information for Seed Professionals Created in 1992 by a seed industry veteran, SeedQuest has become the central information website for the global seed industry. SeedQuest aggregates a broad and steadily growing range of news and information that help seed professionals in their daily work.
